It Takes a Village

The Dexter Drama Booster Club supports the DHS Drama Club Advisor, the Directors and the students in all of their productions and activities to ensure a positive, enriching and memorable Dramatic Arts experience. We build long-term, constructive working relationships with students, parents, faculty and administrators, businesses, and community members to bring quality live theatre to the Dexter School District and to help students develop life-enhancing skills such as leadership, public speaking, strategic thinking, marketing and business management, troubleshooting, design and construction, and most importantly, self-confidence.!

What do the boosters do?

Our boosters provide support throughout the school year, with the majority of our efforts centered around ensuring that productions are sufficiently funded, planned, and staffed. Whether you’ve got an hour a month, a few hours a week or even just want to pitch in for a particular production… we’ve got a spot for you on the team!

Here are some of the activities our boosters are leading on behalf of the club:

  • Soliciting business sponsors and individual donors to help fund club activities

  • Planning and executing set-up and oversight for food service during tech and show weeks

  • Coordinating community events

  • Spearheading publicity within the community for productions, including placement of yard signs, A-frames, and posters around Dexter and the surrounding area

  • Posting on social media to promote club activities and productions

  • Planning for and running concessions and merchandise sales at our shows

  • Helping to build our amazing sets

  • Communicating with parents during productions and coordinating volunteer needs for show days

  • Working with drama club student officers to keep our website up to date

  • Setting up and managing ticket sales for our productions

  • Designing our beautiful programs
