Now in its fourteenth year, Dexter Drama Directing Series’ (affectionately referred to as “3D”) purpose is to showcase the power of student-driven work. All of the one-acts within this series are student-directed by upperclassmen and, as always for Dexter Drama, the productions are student-acted and student-crewed. We are very proud of this unique production that celebrates both student leadership and student writing; since its debut twelve years ago, the "3D" Series has always had at least one student playwright. We feel lucky to have students within Dexter who have the talent, drive, and ambition to meet this challenge and affirm the DDC's mission to encourage students to explore & experience all areas of theatre.

Gerhard written and directed by Riley Kremkus

Gerhard

Intervention Divine Written and directed by Samantha Zeglis and Jared Scott

Gerhard is about an amazing man and his journey through life. It takes place over 60 years and is a very heartfelt story. It jumps around from different settings in Germany to places in both Wisconsin and Michigan. Gerhard is the main character and also my grandfather. He is thrown into a lot of tough situations in his life such as enduring Hitler youth in Germany in the 1940s. There is a mix of romance, happiness, both comedic and dramatic moments to this story, and a stage kiss or two. I am very excited to bring my grandfather's story to the stage.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog was originally a three part web series written and directed by Joss Whedon. It is the gripping story of Dr. Horrible, wannabe super villain. On one hand, he wants more than anything to get into the Evil League of Evil, the most infamous association of villains in the world, ruled under the iron hoof of Bad Horse. On the other, he has fallen for the lovely Penny, a fellow laundry goer who has devoted her life to serving the homeless, and is opposed to villainy in all its forms. Unfortunately for Dr. Horrible, she has fallen for his nemesis, Captain Hammer (who happens to be the womanizing scumbag of the superhero world). Part comedy and part tragedy, Dr. Horrible has something for everyone, and while it is a musical, it is not actually a sing-along.
