Now in its fourteenth year, Dexter Drama Directing Series’ (affectionately referred to as “3D”) purpose is to showcase the power of student-driven work. All of the one-acts within this series are student-directed by upperclassmen and, as always for Dexter Drama, the productions are student-acted and student-crewed. We are very proud of this unique production that celebrates both student leadership and student writing; since its debut twelve years ago, the "3D" Series has always had at least one student playwright. We feel lucky to have students within Dexter who have the talent, drive, and ambition to meet this challenge and affirm the DDC's mission to encourage students to explore & experience all areas of theatre.

English Test Opera
Tests are hard. They can cause a lot of stress, especially for fifth graders. Mildly enforced operatic curses are unlikely to help much, but that is the nature of curses, isn't it?

That’s Not How I Remember It
A short comedy following the story of how Mom and Dad met back in the 80s. The parent's claim 1986 to be "pretty much the most awesome year ever", but it comes to their surprise that what they remember from that year is completely different from each other. Mom's version makes their meeting sound romantic and sappy while Dad makes himself the star of a karate battle. This whimsical one-act is a perfect representation of classic bad 80s movies and the inadequacies of memory.
